Hey, Dwarfer's and fellow Astro-nuts! Get your DWARF II or DWARF 3 smart telescopes ready! DwarfVision is thrilled to announce our biggest event of the season: the Summer Milky Way DSO Challenge.
This challenge is your mission to explore the heart of our galaxy and capture 20 incredible deep-sky objects, from bright, iconic nebulae to faint, challenging targets hiding in the cosmic dust.

The goal is simple for all you dedicated Dwarfers: capture all 20 official challenge DSOs with your DWARF II or DWARF 3 telescope. As you capture and share your images on Facebook in the Dwarflabs Groups, be sure to tag them with the official contest hashtag: #dwarfvisionSummerChallenge.
To Enter, JUST START SHOOTING with your D2/3 (rules and regs are below.) Then tag your shot on FB with #dwarfvisionSummerChallenge
Challenge Dates: July 15th, 2025 – October 15th, 2025
The target list features a fantastic mix of objects for all skill levels. It includes ten of the most popular and celebrated DSOs, interspersed with ten fainter, more challenging targets that will test the skills of even seasoned Astro-nuts. All 20 targets have been carefully selected and vetted by Dwarfvision & the Dwarf Communities' own JB Cox.
To help you on your hunt for these faint fuzzies, JB has provided XLS and PDF guides that you can print and take with you on your imaging sessions.
We are incredibly excited to announce that DWARFLAB is officially sponsoring the challenge! To celebrate the first five finishers who successfully capture all 20 targets, DWARFLAB has generously offered these fantastic prizes:

Don't worry, you won't be on this journey alone! Each week during the challenge, Duncan at DwarfVision will share highlights, tips, and tricks for tackling each DSO. We'll also post the official contest Leaderboard so you can track your progress and see how you stack up against other fellow Dwarfers.

All submitted images must be tagged on Facebook with #dwarfvisionSummerChallenge.
Only images captured with a DWARF II or DWARF 3 smart telescope are eligible.
Submissions are valid only if captured between July 15th, 2025, and October 15th, 2025.
With your post, please include either a screenshot of your capture in progress or attach the stacked.jpg file from your DWARF to your Facebook post.
Any post not matching these rules may be refused.
