This dazzling H II region is one of the most massive and luminous stellar nurseries in our galaxy. The wow of M17 lies in its brilliant, intensely sculpted geometry: a glowing "swan" floating on a cosmic sea of obscuring dark dust. The nebula's core is illuminated by a hidden cluster of dozens of massive, young hot stars. Their blistering ultraviolet radiation sets the surrounding clouds of ionized hydrogen and oxygen ablaze, while fierce stellar winds carve deep, dark ridges and sweeping, wave-like arcs through the cold molecular gas, giving the nebula its spectacular three-dimensional depth.

The Cone Nebula (NGC 2264) Witness a dark, seven-light-year-long spire carved from a sea of hydrogen 2,350 light-years away in Monoceros. To process this monolith, we applied SIRIL and Photoshop, utilizing mock SHO Palettes.
